Tree reaching for the light

"However harsh the winter, the Earth blooms again in the Spring.”

~ Anonymous

Everyone needs to feel seen and understood.  It’s the antidote to the feeling of loneliness that pervades so much of modern life.  When life presents us with a challenge or crisis, however, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by it. We can unconsciously slip into survival mode, which can shut us down, making it harder for us to be seen and get the support and connection we’re seeking.

After walking with hundreds of people on their journeys, I’ve learned that life’s challenges can also create opportunities for positive change, even though it may not feel like it in the moment.  A challenge can help us see what’s working or not working in our lives, it can give us the motivation needed to set effective boundaries and prioritize self-care, and it can help us to reconnect with our authentic selves, to what truly gives us a sense of meaning and purpose.

If we just cope and hope, we won't have the ability to to meet those challenges. And we won't have a chance to see how tapping into our core self—the best of who we are—can allow us to come out the other side of a struggle feeling even stronger.

GET SUPPORT ON YOUR JOURNEY

Individual therapy

As a licensed therapist, I work with individuals who are facing a crisis point. You may be someone experiencing deep grief or loss, or an adult child caring for an aging parent, or perhaps an older adult dealing with a chronic illness. Maybe you are just feeling overwhelmed by the relationships or situations in your life.

Transformational coaching

In addition to therapy, I offer Coaching for people who aren’t at a crisis point, but still need some support in working through challenges. You may have a personal or professional goal you’d like to reach, or you're feeling stuck in a rut, and have a desire to walk more authentically in the world in order to feel a deeper sense of meaning and purpose.

Support for couples

For couples, I can offer Therapy or Coaching, depending on your needs. Whether it’s working through a place of hurt, or working on the skills needed to effectively communicate and negotiate with each other, I can support you in a way that builds connection. I've also helped couples looking for pre-marital counseling to build a strong, loving, and lasting relationship.

TESTIMONIALS

"Mark is an exceptional counselor. He has helped me to navigate relationships, career shifts, and even grief. He provides a safe and supportive non-judgemental space for me to explore my feelings in an honest and authentic way. I have walked into sessions feeling very sad, heavy, and lost, and have walked out of sessions feeling hopeful, lighter, and more alive after feeling heard, seen, and understood.

Mark is patient and kind in walking beside you in your journey of healing, and does a wonderful job of helping you connect and relate pieces of your past to your current life. Working with Mark has helped me to better understand my way of thinking, choices, and actions. I have been able to better connect with myself and the world around me in a healthier way since working with him."

~ Sylvie

"Mark was a guiding light for us being intentional in our approach towards marriage. We completed about a year of pre-marriage counseling with him prior to deciding to become engaged. With his assistance, my husband and I were able to become aligned in our values and envision the life we wished to build together.

Post-wedding, Mark has checked in with us regularly and made himself available as a resource as we navigate married life. To say that the service Mark offers is unique is an understatement. Working with Mark has been an invaluable lesson in connection and relationship building that has permeated and informed every other relationship in our lives as well. We cannot recommend Mark enough."

~ Marina

"I've known Mark since 2017 and he is a phenomenal person to work with, whether it be for coaching or long-term therapy. He takes a psychoeducational approach, and you'll leave your session with new insight. As a therapist myself, I recommend scheduling with him."

~ Paul

"From our very first session I felt comfortable talking with Mark, and knew that day—he’s not your average therapist. His approach to therapy is not at all clinical, but very organic. I’ve always felt more like I was talking with a friend than a therapist. He is smart, funny, kind and very patient, even when he’s had to explain the same exact things to me week after week after week, because let’s face it,—breaking habits you’ve carried your entire life is hard!

Rest assured that Mark will guide you with kindness and encouragement the entire way. He has helped me immensely in my life, and I will forever be grateful for him and his work. He is truly a gift in this world."
